A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn’t understand his Spanish. Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.

the lines turn out to be called ‘grip strip’ and they are using a 'putty knife’ and a 'margin trowel’ to apply it. The mixture will dry in 15m. Before it dries they also have to sprinkle sand on top and press in with the knife/trowel.
I was writing this down in a notebook, and they asked me what for, and I told them I’m sick of not knowing the words for things. Sometimes it feels like I don’t know the words for anything! I’ve read so many words without ever mapping them to the physical things they corresponded to.

There’s yellow and black angled striped tape on the sides of the floor of the jet bridge, and I don’t know why THAT’S there or what it’s called. (edit: kind online people have informed me this is “hazard tape” / “hazard stripes” / “safety tape”, and the general class is called “barricade tape”.)

Mans was literally so respectful he never assumed every turquoise platypus he met wasn’t automatically going to be the one and only turquoise platypus he’s ever met 😂😂😂
I think it’s very sweet that Perry the Platypus recognized that the poor dude is effectively platypus-face-blind (and possibly colour-blind as well), cannot tell if a random platypus is or is not Perry, and is never going to assume in case it is a different platypus because that would be RUDE - and therefore carefully puts on his hat every time, so Doofenshmirtz knows who he’s talking to.
That is some prime Politeness-Between-Nemeses right there.
